The nonprofit sector remains a primary channel for encouraging community living across society. Over the years, NGO activities have evolved to take on more roles. This in turn has resulted in the development of various community initiatives. Although these organisations are controlled and coordinated by private persons, they, however, derive a substantial part of their power from other members of the community.
