1. The Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI)

The Metrobank Foundation is a grantmaking institution that works with nonprofits who share its vision of a sustainable nation. Also, MFBI offers charity grants to support programs and projects that align with its objectives. 

The acronym ‘HEAL’ captures the foundation’s primary emphasis which is health, education, arts and livelihood. MBFI also embraces the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Hence, nonprofits seeking grant funding must be acquainted with the foundation’s guiding framework. 

MFBI also supports nonprofits that advocate for underprivileged and marginalized sectors of society. By and large, MFBI ranks among the most active corporate philanthropic organizations in the Philipines. Likewise, it has received both local and international awards. 

2. The Philippines Foundation 

The Philippines Foundation provides support to communities by delivering various sustainability initiatives. Also, the organization through its program development offers several empowerment opportunities to citizens.  

The foundation was established in 2014 to educate and empower underprivileged women and children. Also, through its community-rebuilding programs, the organization has made an impact across various societies in the Philippines. Presently, the foundation has expanded its scope of impact through its partnership with several grassroot organizations.

In general, the Philippines Foundation supports sustainable development programs and offers charity grants to nonprofits that prioritize health, education, human rights, the environment, and poverty alleviation.

3. Philippine International Aid (PIA)

The Philippine International Aid offers educational opportunities to thousands of children across the nation. Likewise, PIA provides charity grants to selected organizations that seek to support kids through scholarships and other services. 

In order to achieve its objectives, the organization works with nonprofits spread across various communities in the Philippines. In general, over 2500 students benefit from PIA’s aid support each year. 

4. The Starbucks Foundation

The Starbucks Foundation provides support funding to empower communities across the globe. For this purpose, local nonprofits are offered charity grants to fund impactful programs. 

The foundation, in 2022, disclosed its $30 million investment by 2030 through its Global Community Impact Grants portfolio. The aim of the initiative is to spur local impacts within the communities where Starbucks operates. 

For over 25 years, Starbucks has supported various community initiatives. Likewise, the foundation has awarded over $3.2 million in charity grants to various nonprofits. Among the Philippine NGOs that have benefited from its support grant includes Gawad Kalinga, Philippines, HOUSE Foundation, Philippines, and Teach for the Philippines, Philippines among others. 

5. Forest Foundation Philippines 

The Forest Foundation offers charity grants and technical assistance to projects that conserve and protect forests in Philippines. Its support initiatives also extends to forest-dependent communities.

Hence, nonprofits seeking to apply for grants must develop projects that help to protect and conserve forests in the Philippines. 

In general, small, medium, and large grants comprise the three classes of fund offerings. Small grants projects may receive funding of up to PhP 500,000 for a year. Medium and large grant projects on the other hand may receive funding of up to PhP 6,000,000 and PhP 24,000,000 respectively. 

Forest foundation since 2002 has supported over 700 projects through its charity grants.
