Nonprofit organisations are doing their best to tackle psychological well-being issues in Jamaica. Hence, supporting these charities can provide the funds needed to improve the psychological well-being process. Below are charities and foundations that address mental health issues by providing lasting solutions.

1. Jamaica Mental Health Advocacy Network

JAMHAN advocates for mental health in Jamaican societies. As we all know, addressing psychological well-being requires prompt attention. As a result, the nonprofit advocates for policy reform to accommodate those faced with mental disorders in Jamaica. JAMHAN also works to combat stigma among those struggling with mental illness. This is through campaigns and outreach programs organised to empower families and friends with the information needed to battle the disease.

2. Haile Clacken Bipolar Foundation

The foundation is known for its support for people suffering from bipolar disorder through the development of solutions to address their illness. In regards to solving bipolar disorder, the Haile Clacken Bipolar Foundation extends its solution to educate communities about stigmatisation. They endeavour to remove stigmatisation among groups and communities because of the damage it causes to families and communities. Also, the foundation seeks to address other mental illnesses for the sake of psychological well-being stability.

3. The Jamaica Psychiatric Association

The JPA brings together mental health professionals dedicated to improving and educating the public about mental well-being. Their efforts to curb psychological well-being challenges have extended to lobbying for policy reform on behalf of the mentally challenged. This is to ensure they enjoy fair treatment in the society to which they belong. Conducting research and re-training professionals is part of JPA’s obligation to support those suffering from mental illness in the healing process.

4. Peace and Love in Society (PALS)

PALS fosters awareness of psychological well-being across Jamaican communities. They work to ensure that Jamaican society is set free from mental illnesses. Hence, PALS organises programs to create awareness about mental health while keeping people and their communities on one page. The programs of psychological well-being organized by PALS are carried out through peer group support, which engages the youth in discussions. The nonprofit believes that engaging the youths in peer group discussions helps them open up about their challenges with mental disorders.

5. Committee for the Upliftment of the Mentally Ill (CUMI)

CUMI is an organisation working tirelessly to rehabilitate the homeless and mentally ill. The mission of this organisation is to reach out and advocate for the homeless and mentally ill in Montego Bay. This organisation educates and advocates for support for those facing mental disorders. They do this by lobbying for policy reforms and raising awareness in the host communities to accommodate the mentally ill and homeless.
