Most organisations prefer Asana as their management tool. It is especially useful for planning a client’s work, such as developing and updating a content calendar for organisations that provide blogs and social media content. Additionally, the tool requires an organised editorial approach. Hence, we’ve put together this tutorial on setting up an Asana content calendar.

The first line of action in creating content is to create an outline

Asana’s Subscription Packages
There are three pricing choices if you are a new Asana user. They consist of the free Basic plan, Premium, and Business tiers. The good news is that the free edition offers most of the functionality you require if you are just starting.
Regardless of the level of subscription you opt for, using this manual, you can make a content calendar. Let’s begin the journey.
How to Make a Content Calendar in Asana
1. Create an outline
When you want to format your content, Asana gives you a few fairly versatile options. One can:
Use an Asana template for a content calendar.
Add an existing spreadsheet content calendar to Asana.
Create a layout for your editorial calendar from scratch.
Asana designates divisions for calendars with names like Ideas, Drafts, Review, Scheduled, and Published. The List or Board views make it easiest to view these, and they offer you a general idea of where each item of content is in the workflow.
2. Add ideas to your calendar.
Secondly, Asana includes whatever they consider might meet the organisation’s objectives and, most importantly, readers’ interests in their editorial calendar. This is a collection of concepts discovered via exploring social media, listening to podcasts, team suggestions, using repurposed content, etc. It is easy to understand what the post idea is about because these are provided in the ideas area as individual tasks with descriptive titles. When you add an idea, you can include notes in the description or develop a special template, as we do for each piece of content. The topic, goal, and call-to-action that you will utilise in the post are laid out in the description section of the blog post template (as an example). It also includes any supporting links, attachments, etc.
3. Assign Projects and Due Dates
If you collaborate with a team, you can designate the subtasks to the appropriate person and establish a deadline for them to submit their blog post. The due date will be underlined, and this will show up under My Tasks on the home screen.
To help you visualise when your posts will go live, you can also set the publishing date for the primary task. This will show up in the Calendar view. As a result, you can guarantee a consistent distribution of content over time, prevent any conflicts, and halt any silent periods.
4. Utilise Custom Fields.
Custom fields act as the task’s equivalent of tags. They appear in your list, board, and calendar views to make it simple for you to locate pertinent information about that activity.
Also, all information is displayed using custom tags. This includes the content stage (drafted, in review, ready to publish, etc.), the topic (productivity, promotion, online marketing, etc.), the type of content it relates to (blog, social post, video, podcast, infographic, etc.), and other information.
Make sure you have a solid content mix ready for publication. This is made easy with the help of the fields you use for the type of content. Even better, everything can be colour-coded!
5. Complete the Tasks in the Workflow.
Lastly, you can advance your team through the various portions of the board by reminding them of the crucial sections needed for the position (e.g., ready for review, scheduled, etc.). By doing so, you may monitor your progress toward achieving deadlines and maintaining the pace of content creation.
Conclusion
Asana presents an easy-to-use content management tool. From creating an outline to completing all tasks in the workflow, it provides an easy way to create content.
